Happy Friday everyone. It’s a good day… and thankfully, most days are good days.
Photo from this nostaligc filmic food-filled Flickr stream (no, seriously, I just got trapped in that flickr stream for half an hour, expect another post dedicated to it) via Happenstance.
Sweet album art by Iain Macarthur, click that link yo, his work is making my brain all ‘this-is-awesome-must-grab-my-markers-and-be-awesome-tooooo’. His weird rough handmade/graffiti/sketchbook/sexy pencil style is really working for me.
Wow, this is pretty sad, but a nice hit of Dolly Parton after work is good for the country lady in me. Frig Jolene, back off.
Jolene – Dolly Parton, 1974.
P.s. If you are a Dolly Parton fan (and a lover of chick flicks) I recommend to you 9 to 5 (amazing) and Steel Magnolias. If that’s not enough enough Dolly for you just let me know and I’ll recommend some more. She reminds me a bit of Tom Hanks, in that, she plays the same sort of character in all her movies, but she always seems like a different person. Anyway, I’m super biased.
So much movement and magic in these few bits of custom font… and it’s only in the ‘experimental stage’. I’m keeping my eye on awesome type by Craig Ward.
Sophia Coppola at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on the set of her new film Somewhere. Sophia describes her youthful female leads as “thoughtful observers” and I like that.
